Several countries from the Persian Golf have chosen Lorenzo Quinn to carry out two major magnitude projects, which surely will have a worldwide recognition. At this moment, no more information can be given, due to the required confidentiality.
Todo ello, fruto del reconocimiento , después de varias exposiciones realizadas en la zona, así cómo de la donación de obra para una causa benéfica que alcanzó el precio de venta de medio millón de dólares, y sobretodo a raíz de un gran proyecto encargado por “ASPIRE” la Academia de Deportes de Élite en Doha, Qatar, en 2005, con motivo de la inauguración de sus nuevas instalaciones.
This, has been possible because of Lorenzo’s prestige, acquired after doing several exhibitions in the area and as for giving one of his works for a charitable cause, which reached the sale price of about half a million dollars. Specially, the renown is due to a great project commissioned in 2005, by “ASPIRE”, the Elite Sports Academy in Doha, Qatar, on the occasion of the opening of its new facilities.
Alcanzando el oro / Achieving the gold
Quinn trabajó en “Asciende a través de la Educación”, un libro abierto del que surgen dos brazos formando un círculo que finaliza con dos manos de adulto presentando el mundo a una mano infantil. La escultura superaría los 8 metros de altura y los 8000kg de peso. Lorenzo se sintió satisfecho después de horas y horas de instalación de la escultura debido a su gran tamaño y transporte desde España. “Realmente, fue toda una experiencia educativa para cuantos participamos en esta obra. Son muy pocas las esculturas de bronce expuestas al clima de la región - la humedad es del 95 por ciento, incluso de noche.” Quinn hizo una segunda obra intitulada “Alcanzando el oro” y está terminando una tercera llamada “La Torre Olímpica” de unos 14m de altura.
Quinn worked in “Ascend Through Education,” an open book from which two arms, forming a circle and ending with two hands of an adult showing the world to a children’s hand, arise. The sculpture measured over 8 meters high and weight more than 8000kg. Lorenzo felt satisfied after hours of work for the sculpture installation because of its huge size and its relocation from Spain. “It was a really educational experience for all those who took part in this work. Very few bronze sculptures are exposed here in this region due to the climate; humidity is about 95 percent, even at night”. Quinn made another work named “Achieving the gold” and is now finishing a third one called “The Olympic Tower” which is about 14 meters high.
