Los amantes del vino tuvieron oportunidad del 8 al 13 de junio de degustar creaciones de cantantes, diseñadores, actores y deportistas. Entre ellos, se encontraba el vino de Lorenzo Quinn de las bodegas Fernando Remírez de Ganuza. Los 20 mejores locales de vinos de las poblaciones asturianas de Avilés, Salinas y Piedras Blancas fueron los embajadores de personajes de la talla de Bob Dylan, Gerard Depardieu, Clif Richard o Joan Manuel Serrat. Vinos que han sido seleccionados por reputados periodistas gastronómicos, garantizando que los vinos sean tratados con el máximo respeto durante su conservación y servicio.


From the 8th to the 13th of June wine lovers had the opportunity to taste the creations of singers, designers, actors and athletes. Among them was Lorenzo Quinn’s wine, from the Fernando Remírez de Ganuza winery. The best 20 wine bars of the Asturian towns of Avilés, Salinas and Piedras Blancas were the ambassadors of celebrities such as Bob Dylan, Gerard Depardieu, Cliff Richard or Joan Manuel Serrat. Those wines were selected by renowned gastronomic journalists, who guaranteed the utmost respect in handling the wines during their preservation and service.

Famous Wine Festival nació para acercar vinos que no aparecen de forma habitual en las cartas de vinos de los restaurantes y mucho menos en las estanterías de las enotecas. Los asistentes tuvieron un “vinomapa” de todos los establecimientos participantes, dónde podían degustar por copas los vinos de los famosos a precios de entre 2 y 5 euros. Un buen precio, dado que muchas de las botellas superan los 50 euros. Cada establecimiento tenía asignado a unos de los 20 famosos escogidos para el evento. En consecuencia cada local se adecuaba a la temática del famoso. En el caso del local del escultor Lorenzo Quinn, estuvieron expuestas diferentes esculturas del artista, entre ellas, obviamente, la que da nombre al vino, “Gravedad”. De ésta forma se quería rendir homenaje a los famosos que sienten pasión y respeto por la vid y sus frutos.

Famous Wine Festival was born to offer wines that don’t usually appear in the wine lists of restaurants, let alone on the shelves of wine shops. Assistants were given a “winemap” of all the participating establishments, where they could taste the celebrities’ wines by the glass, at prices ranging between 2 and 5 Euro. A reasonable price, considering that many of the bottles exceed 50 Euro. Each wine bar was assigned one of the 20 celebrities chosen for the event. Consequently, each locale was decorated following the celebrity’s theme. At the sculptor Lorenzo Quinn’s establishment, several of the artist’s sculptures were on display; among them, of course, the one to give the wine its name, “Gravedad”. Thus homage was paid to those celebrities who feel passion and respect for the vine and its fruits.

presentacion-vino1El lugar escogido para el festival se celebra en la comarca de Avilés ya que esta demarcación se sitúa en este momento a la cabeza de Asturias, y de la cornisa cantábrica, en cuanto a número de establecimientos especializados en vinos. Esta actividad promocional está organizada por la Mancomunidad Comarca de Avilés, junto con el apoyo técnico de la empresa Gustatio, empresa con gran experiencia en la organización de proyectos relacionados con la cultura del vino.

The chosen venue for the festival is the region of Avilés! , since this area is currently in a leading position in Asturias and the Cantabrian Region as regards to the number of establishments specialising in wines. This promotional activity is organised by the Mancomunidad Comarca de Avilés, with the technical support of Gustatio, a company with ample experience in managing projects related to wine culture.
